FORD UNVEILS KEY NEW MODELS AND PREVIEWS THE LATEST IN FUEL EFFICIENT MOBILITY

Ford Australia has pulled the covers off a number of major new models at the Melbourne International Motor Show today, along with a preview of the company's vision for sustainable motoring, which is set to join the local Ford line-up in late 2009.

 

A new Fiesta model from Ford's highly fuel efficient, low CO2 emissions ECOnetic vehicle range was unveiled at this year's show, along with new Focus and Ranger model lines, a new-look SY Territory MkII range and a new Mondeo wagon variant.

A European-specification Fiesta ECOnetic, which took centre stage on the Ford stand, gave Australian consumers their first look at one of the company's latest, highly fuel efficient and environmentally advanced, ultra-low CO2 vehicles.

 

New LV Focus

Ford recently celebrated the tenth anniversary of the global Focus nameplate with the release of a dynamic new model, the LV-series Focus, which has made its Australian debut at this year's Melbourne International Motor Show.

Featuring a dynamic new look with kinetic design styling cues, an upgraded interior and a host of impressive new features and technologies, Focus retains the acclaimed driving excellence that has established it as a leader in the small car market around the world. Find out more
 

SY Territory MkII

The new look SY Territory MkII range was also unveiled at the Ford stand, featuring key exterior design changes, fresh interior environments, a revised model line-up and a host of additional equipment now fitted as standard. Find out more
 

New PK Ranger

The next generation Ranger light commercial vehicle made its Australian-debut at the Melbourne International Motor Show, ahead of going on sale in the second quarter of 2009.

 

Inspired by the high-impact Ranger MAX show truck – which Ford revealed at the Thailand International Motor Expo in November – the new Ford Ranger puts into production several distinctive design elements that create a new look for the compact pick-up segment. Find out more

New Mondeo Zetec wagon

 
Rounding out the list of new Ford models unveiled at the show was the new Mondeo Zetec wagon, which will join the Mondeo range in mid-2009.

 

"First shown at the Melbourne International Motor Show last year, the Mondeo wagon is a fantastic addition to the existing award-winning Mondeo line-up, offering performance, safety, load-carrying ability and plenty of European style to fill the niche between the Mondeo hatch and the Falcon wagon," Mr Burela said.
